Faith is a member church in an association called WESTAID. It is composed of a number of local area churches of various denominations. Several foundations and the Tarrant Area Food Bank also support these efforts. The purpose of our group is to provide help and assistance to the needy in our immediate area. Faith contributes significant funds for the program each year. Distribution is from a central gathering place, and a number of our folks volunteer here too on a regular basis. WESTAID provides food baskets, gasoline, clothing, and financial help with various bills-rent, utilities etc. and directives for counseling when folks are suffering. Supplemental food is provided for the elderly and disabled. Help is provided with school supplies for youngsters and uniforms for school are assisted with too. Seasonal foods are given such as on Thanksgiving and Christmas, and toys are gathered for gifts at Christmas also. This is a fine organization and we are thankful to participate in this loving work of stewardship.
